5 Netflix Tips You Should Know

Everyone wants to know everything there is to know about Netflix and how much they are making. There are a lot of people who would like to know the top grossing movies from every week, the top 100 top rated TV series for each month, where you will definitely see your favorite show. It’s pretty easy to go down that rabbit hole or get lost in the rabbit-hole of wanting to know all the details there are to know about Netflix. Now, we can quickly find out some things that you should know but it isn’t like all of them on Netflix—and this article is dedicated entirely to those specific topics or subjects that need additional info on Netflix. But it is definitely worth knowing and reading. So here are a few tips for getting started:

Tip 1: If You Are Not A Star Wars Fan Then Don't Care!

This one is just so obvious, but we have to realize that if you are not a Star Wars fan then you are probably going to be bored by any and everything else on Netflix. This means that there are some specific shows or films that were made after the original trilogy ended and were made with no intention of becoming anything more than a novelty to entertain you. I will repeat, even though you might find something interesting and fun that you enjoy watching on Netflix, these aren’t truly great shows. They are certainly entertaining, yes, but nothing really stands out above the rest.

Tip 2: Check Out The Ratings Before Buying Anything On Netflix!

There are a lot of sites where you can get all kinds of reviews and ratings regarding a certain movie or TV episode as well as an overall rating for what has been rated. It’s very important because you are doing yourself (and someone else) no good if you end up hating it because of how low it scored on Metacritic or other reviews sites. With Netflix, there really aren’t too many scores out there that actually matter that much except when ranking movies. Some reviews may be okay, some may be terrible but since I am a huge critic, I’m always looking at these numbers closely, sometimes comparing them to others so I can better gauge whether they are good enough for me to watch on Netflix or not—but most of the time, this only happens when there are several thousand reviews of something in that list.

Tip 3: Use Apps Like Hulu To Stream Your Favorite Shows Or Films On Netflix

One of the best ways to find good TV shows or movies online is through Hulu. However, Hulu does not allow streaming on Netflix and therefore has different platforms and apps available for your viewing. Since Hulu is one of the oldest and biggest streaming services today, one of my main sources of entertainment is streaming my favorites shows and movies. One of the things I like about using Hulu is that it allows me to watch shows or movies that are only available on Hulu and don’t require any kind of subscription to watch anymore. Since Amazon Prime Video was purchased by Disney+, Hulu lets you stream new content in addition to all the older content that you already subscribe to. If I do use Hulu, this means that I can watch shows like Marvel’s The Avengers and The Defenders or My Top 5 Best Friends or whatever kind of stuff is in my Netflix feed that I want to check out. Other app options include Watchmen and Peacock.

Tip 4: Make A List For All Of Your Favorites Movies/TV Shows After Filming Them

What are your favorite shows and movies? Have you watched a movie or show before? Do most of them you remember from that year in college? What did you like about it? Did everything about it make sense to you? These are all questions you should ask yourself when deciding what shows and movies you want to watch more of or rewatch. Ask yourself why, and once you have figured out what your top favorite shows and movies are, start watching them there. As mentioned earlier, there are tons of lists out there for certain shows and movies in order to help you decide—this is particularly helpful if you have only ever seen one or two of your top favorite shows or movies. As long as you know why you like these shows and movies and what those shows and movies are about, then you are all set! If not, then, maybe you should not like them all, or not watch them all at all. Either way, it doesn’t mean that you won’t like the ones you have. Maybe you got tired of the same thing all the time, and you just like seeing that again and not have the same old thing happening all over again. Most people like this, anyway. If not, you might like the ones you have and just not all of them.

Tip 5: Start Watching Shows Online In 2021 & Avoid Cable Television

If you ever find yourself wanting to spend money in tv and movies—I would recommend starting watching Netflix and being able to tell what shows you enjoy and which ones you hate. I know many people tell themselves “if I never watch TV, I will never learn the things I should learn” and then they watch their favorite show, and it becomes less likely that they will try and find out everything they could about it, especially now that shows and movies are increasingly available online. At first it might seem scary to try and start watching shows whenever things like HBO Max and Showtime come into view, but that is where you run a risk of giving yourself a headache, unless your first goal is to become the next Steven King or Jeff Bridges. That is why I suggest spending at least one hour a day watching shows and movies online and avoiding cable television altogether. Even though some shows or movies are available to watch online all on HBO or Showtime, even those show must be part of your Netflix subscription plan, otherwise you’ll wind up missing out.
