The Walking Dead : 5 Characters That Negan Could Call Friends

  The Walking Dead: Negan

Negan may be the worst villain in a show full of excellent villains. On The Walking Dead, who are his most vehement foes, and who are his few allies?

Negan was one of the most despised characters in the first season of The Walking Dead. He made his debut by mercilessly murdering some of the show's most adored characters, earning him more enemies than friends, but he has surprisingly grown to become a genuine fan favourite over the years.

Negan has a tumultuous connection with the majority of the people he meets, but he has recently made an effort to be amicable with Alexandrians. Just because he sees them as a friend doesn't imply they feel the same way, but he has to take what he can get with such a large list of opponents.

1Friend: Judith Grimes

"Look at this tiny angel," Negan says to Judith for the first time, and it's safe to say that his perspective hasn't altered. Judith was probably the only person with whom he had actual conversations throughout his years in the Alexandria detention cell.

He definitely made an impression by spending his days helping her with arithmetic homework or trying to give the younger Grimes life advice. Judith sees him as a human being who has done awful things in the past but no longer wants to do those bad things, which is a rare gift given to Negan.

2Friend: Carol Peletier

Carol and Negan may never be true friends, but she did make a bargain with him that allowed him to prove his commitment to Alexandria and earn his way out of solitary prison.

That puts her ahead of many of the town's hostile residents on Negan's hit list. Carol sees him and his usefulness in shades of grey, willing to accept when he would be valuable to the group, particularly when it came to eliminating Alpha and the Whisperers.

3Friend: Alpha

Negan knew going into his relationship with Alpha that he would betray and kill her one day. Though he kept his end of the bargain, he grew to appreciate and respect the Whisperers' warped leader after living with them and forming a bond with her.

The survivor in him, who did whatever it took to maintain leadership and feed his group, was amazed by what she had accomplished, skin masks and zombie walks included. He despised some aspects of her, such as her treatment of Lydia, but he didn't want to murder her.

4Friend: Lydia

Lydia flees her life with the Whisperers due to her mother's terrible torture, but when she arrives in Alexandria, she faces a new challenge when she is ridiculed by the local teens.

Negan has a soft place for children and knows how it feels to be an outsider. He doesn't hesitate to be there for her when she needs it, even putting his life on the line to save hers when the bullying became unbearable. Lydia and Negan share a particular trust between them, despite the unorthodox nature of their connection due to his role in her mother's death.

5Friend: Carl Grimes

Negan, an ex-gym instructor, forms the strongest relationships with children and has expressed his desire to have children of his own. Carl Grimes was one of the first people he took an interest in.

Carl was someone Negan actually admired. He liked him, despite the fact that he threatened his life and limbs on a few of occasions. Negan was so impressed by Carl's bravery that he went out of his way to take him home after he attempted to kill him. He was moved by his message appealing for peace later in the series, and he grieved when Rick told him Carl had died from a Walker bite.
